Telegraph Road Interchange Variable Speed Limit System

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is debuting an innovative traffic management system called Variable Speed Limit (VSL) to assist drivers approaching Beltway/ I-95 lane closures associated with the Telegraph Road Interchange reconstruction, the final element of the Woodrow Wilson Bridge Project. To maximize traffic flow, specially trained operators will control the system as it varies the speed limit on the Beltway.

Midasco is responsible for all phases of the VSL system installation as well as preventative and emergency maintenance and relocation as required to accommodate the changing interchange configuration. To facilitate the start of construction for the Telegraph Road interchange this project had critical schedule requirements which Midasco successfully met.
